Jerry
According to Steve Heinrichs Speedster book VIN# 80781 came from the factory with paint# 537 Graphite Metallic( Lacquer). It also says that it came with the following: the standard 546-2 engine, 1500 3 piece crankcase, 55Hp.

Jerry, You have a winner!
btw, 537 (Ruetter) & 5403 (Porsche) are the same colors.
Neat - you are working on one of the first 1000 Speedsters built.

Regarding the original question, I suppose this is "???? am Main".
I only know Frankfurt am Main (to distinguish it from Frankfurt am Oder) so I guess this was the Glöckler dealership from this town.
Frankfurt seems to be shortened. Maybe a german rennlister will help you on this.

Hope this help.

I suggest you send your inquiry to the 356 Registry at 356talk@356registry.org, if you have not already. Some Cardex fanitic will probably answer.

Thanks a lot guys!

I hadn't seen this post in quite some time and I was surprised by all your reactions. I did indeed post also on 2 German forums. They say the names are:

1 Mahag in Munchen Germany
2 AFN in London England
3 Hahn in Stuttgart Germany

I got the cardex from our Dutch Porsche importer some 3 years ago. I hear they don't give them anymore these days.
