Default Car Transport - Intercity?

Now that I have purchased Andres B Coupe I need to ship it from Florida to California. Got a quote from Intercity which was higher than I thought, also worried about how fast they can get it here (don't have a time estimate yet).

I know this subject has been discussed before, but I'm not coming up with much with searches. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Intercity has lots of good reports on 356talk, etc. I think Robert and Jo Ann(e) - sorry for misspelling - have used them several times.

We've used Intercity Many times and have been happy with them every time. Never a single complaint or worry about anything.

Last time we shipped a car was in May and Intercity could not come to pick it up for three weeks. The buyer couldn't wait three weeks so we went shopping. All the carriers (including Intercity) were within 200.00 of each other. Our buyer suggested VIP and we went with them and were very happy with the service and the driver. The truck was another matter. It was very old. Clean on the inside (and that is, after all, what is important) but it was rat scabby, patched looking and very old on the outside. Still, the service was excellent and if we had to, we'd use them again and recommend them to others.

Not the same story for Thomas C. Sunday. Nice truck on the outside, Rat scabby dirty on the inside. They brought Max to us (Concours Car) . Max was covered with an old, dusty greasy car cover. Needless to say Robert and I were not pleased. The driver was nice and all, kept in contact with us the entire week, but the car is what was important to us, not the constant updates, so we won't use them, nor reccomend them to our friends.

Same goes for Gold Rush. We will not recommend them to anyone. We had problems with damage as did two of our other friends. This goes back 5 years and we all had the same driver, who I hear, must no longer be with the company. I know that people are very happy with their service now, but the whole experience in 2001 left a bad taste in our mouths, so no........

Hope this helps.

JoAnne

Jim...

That's it!!!!

DeMoise is the one I couldn't think of that Tony (airkuul993) used and he was very VERY Happy. They had quick pick up and delivery too and I know that is what you are looking for. Maybe they are not as busy as the other guys.

Thanks Carrera97701!!!

Thanks all. I just hired DeMoise - price is a $247 less than Intercity, very friendly people (Bill DeMoise) and they can pick it up pretty quick (8/5-7). So keeping my fingers crossed that she gets here safe and quick!

Cool!!!! So all the carriers arel still within about $200.00 bucks of each other. At the rate the DeMoise Family business's reputation for fast pick up and great service is growing, the big time car transportation companies better watch out..... or at least buy more trucks so that their lead times aren't so long........
