Default Source for 356 pricing?

Other than monitoring ads, is there a source outlining 356 pricing?

I realize the cost individual cars can vary greatly, depending on their condition.

Though I'd love to know the general price range by year and model.

Seems my 993 4S won't be happy until it has a 356 for a stable mate!

Excellence Magazine runs periodic market updates on 356's. Their prices always seem a little on the high side. Monitor E-bay for 1-2 months and you will get a feel for what the various models are selling for.

Then buy the 356 book by Jim Schraeger. I think it's something like "buying, owning and driving the Porsche 356". Great entry-level book that will teach you a lot.

Suggestions above are good for market info although I don't trust eBay much as I see so many of the same cars "sell" only to be re-listed a week later. Hemmings is a good place to check up on as well. Keep your eyes open and the values will become clear [more importantly, you will see what condition cars sell for what money because condition is everything, especially with the bodies of these cars].

You will love the 356--after driving a 911 and getting into a 356, the DNA [especially in the steering feel] is very clear.

Default 356 Club At Dana Point

I was fortunate last weekend to see nearly two-hundred 356's at the the club's 20th annual event in Dana Point.

Very inspriing and a good step in learning the models and what I can afford....obsvioulsy, not a speedster!

Honestly, I could be quite happy with many of the coupes that were on hand.

best buying guide for any porsche is the porsche market letter (in regards to values) http://www.pmletter.com/

best guide as to what to look for is probably any one of Dr. Brett Johnsons 356 books (try amazon)
