Question Headlight bucket

This may be heresy to both the 356 and the 964 owners, but ... I am trying to convert my 964 to H4 headlights and am daunted by the fierce cost of the Hella units. Daniel Stern Lighting says that the 356/VW headlight bucket will (a) fit and (b) carry the Cibie H4 headlights with ease.

There's a new headlight bucket on sale at J.C.Whitney for 50 bucks: <http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2003817/showCustom-0/p-2003817/N-111+200729905+600002821/c-10101>
a/k/a <http://makeashorterlink.com/?A1802228C>.

My question's this: the ones JC has for sale (and those I've seen on fleabay) all have chrome trim rings. Does anyone know of a source of unpainted/unplated rings?
