Car has a Reutter badge and a Karmann vin#!!!! Kind of weird when you state "Complete factory car"...

Hahahahah! Gotta love eBay sometimes...where can you look up information like that Pedro? Is there a source where you can look up chassis numbers versus engine numbers/transmission numbers to see if they were produced in the same period at least?

Hi Cole...chassis# are easy for the cars after 1962...Reutter's #s started with 1 and Karmann with 2...

Holy Geez that car ended up selling for almost $30,000 [over $30K with taxes]....wayyyy too much money for that car IMO--no Kardex/Cert of Authenticity, and questionable origin with the serial number not matching the Reutter labels on the car....

Ebay can be nuts sometimes--I think some people just love beating someone else at the bidding game!

Jim LOL!!!!! s/b 1600cc!!! LOL

I guess some people don't care if the badging is correct or what. All they see is that it has over $64,000 worth of receipts and they got it for a mere $30,000.00. They don't care that the PO spent $64,000.00 and didn't put the car back into original condition, or even into a cool outlaw. Heck, some resto shops don't even know what orginal condition should be on a 356. That just may have been the case here......

To each his own I guess......
