What is "Garage Queen" in German?
I know this car very well and though it gets driven and shown it still needs a name. I vote for "Ledwinka" Winner gets a ride in the car!

Would love to post my artwork here on the site but it would be seen as a selling pitch which is not very well tolarated on this list. Thank you though for the plug!

I'm trying to get another art show event at Johnson Autosport together early next year. I will announce it here as well when we get it all pulled together. Thanks again. Mike

LEDWINKA!

Ledwinka, Hans (born in Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria),1878, died in Munich (Germany),1967) was an Austrian automobile designer. Before World War I, Ledwinka worked for Nesselsdorfer and designed Type U. In 1917, he joined Steyr. From 1921 to 1945, he was chief designing engineer of Tatra company in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic (the successor company of Nesselsdorfer). He invented the frameless central tubular chassis (so called backbone chassis) with swing axles, all-independent suspension and rear-mounted air-cooled (so called "pancake") engines.

Ledwinka discussed design ideas with Ferdinand Porsche, and the similarity between his designs of Tatra cars and Porsche's 1938 Kdf-Wagen (known as the VW Beetle after World War II).

Wow... He lived to be 87 years old and saw the evolution of his design concepts come full circle in the 911. He was heard to say one day late in his life under his breath between bites of Cabbage Patties known as Zelne Karbenatky*...
I should have never mentioned the flat pancake engine to that goof Porsche!
================
*Zelne Karbenatky
A simple Czech recipe. Especially good if you've got some left over cabbage.
3 slices bacon (chopped into 1/2 inch pieces)
2 cups fried chopped cabbage
2 knockwurst, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
salt and pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs (approximately)
2 eggs
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
4 servings Change size or US/metric
25 minutes 10 mins prep
====================

Mike.... You Czech???

A similar reciepe in Croatian would be called Zelena Kupus. It's more like Saurkraut without the patties...

So....... I wonder..... if we eat this Zelne Karbenatky thing, will we become smart Automobile Engineers and live long lives??

Where did you hear about that funny quote: " I should have never mentioned the flat pancake engine to that goof Porsche" ? That's a Classic!

Inventor of the concepts of the frameless central tubing chassis with pendelachsen and the air-cooled double-piston engine. Default Funny

Well you have to admit the image of it all was fairly funny. And I thought the addition of the recipe was an added bonus even though it was a bit off topic.
