Default 12-Volt Conversion

If a 356 is in very good mechanical/electrical condition, any reason to update to 12V ? What are pros of conversion ? Or negatives of not converting ?

Thanks,

Jim

A 6v system that is clean should be just as reliable as a 12v. Get the headlight and starter relays from Joe L. (356electrics.com IIRC) and you will be amazed. Of course, the trick is having a clean 6v system. Every connection, ground, etc....

i actually have bought but not installed all the parts for a 12V conversion - it as going to be my project for a rainy day (we get a few of those out here) but the reliability of the 6V system has been superb and i just have not found a good reason to actually do it.
Headlight relays are key of course (i have 20 year old ones that work just fine)
In short there is no real reason of do it if he current 6v is in good working order.
My 2 cents
