Yeah he has serviced my car practically since new. He told me I have a "very nice car" might just be making me feel good but it was nice to hear from a shop. It is there(the 356) at schneiders and boy was it nice, its actually a speedster. It was so nice i thought it was a kit car :0 they said oh no all original and probably worth about 150k!!!!

Yup, Speedsters are up in the 125 to 150, 000.00 dollar range. We made a big mistake not buying one last year for ONLY 90,000.00!!!
90,000.00 now gets you are driver/fixer.....

JoAnne -
Get some old car magazines from the 70s and look at the classifieds... how'd you like a 550 for just $2k, running and all? Even at 1971 prices (the ad I remember from looking last year) and inflation, you'd still turn a MASSIVE profit today...

way back in 99' when i bought my Cup car we passed up a 59' Pushrod GT Speedster (1 of 7 made) for 90K in favor of the cup car - then not 6 months later couldn't get it together enought to buy a black speedster for 40K (we were knee deep in moving and buying a house).
Ah the good old days 6 years ago!!!!

I was sort of thinking that the other day about the guy who bought Helga back from us. He paid what, $4500.00 for her in 1965??? He must have been swallowing hard when he wrote the check to buy her back from us some 40 years later!!!

Robert/JoAnne - $4500 seems a lot for a new 356 in '65. My dad paid $4250 for my C coupe, including an aftermarket Artic Kar AC unit... (he took delivery 7/26/65. My daugter was born 7/26/2000!)
