Yup those are the ones. The sure looked good, but were extremely old and dangerous to drive on.

They sure are cute, but I would like to see them on the track or dodging cones!

God I remember those smoggy summer days. Thank goodness I lived on the coast and didn't have to breath that yucky stuff all the time!!! I only had to breath sometimes smelly, most likely toxic, yet somehow legal fumes from all the refineries that surrounded San Pedro!!!

Harry... you are talking about Vic Skirmants aren't you?

This was in Williamsburg....

BTW: Bruce, those vintage tires are long gone

Of course, who did you think i was talking about, Ted Nudgent?
Vic is in the white speedster w/red front accents passing the green one, going into the esses at midohio.

the top one, blue car going through the corkscrew at midohio is another one of vics cars i believe (well at least one he built i believe).

if you have never seen Vic race, it is well worth it. The man can make these cars dance around the track, always taking the best lines. not only can he make em dance, but his engines.. oh yeah, they can really sing too!

btw.. soon as i get it back from Herr Spencer i will post pics the only think i have thats 356 related -the engine. (ok its a 912 engine, not a 356 engine.. but its pretty much the same thing as a 356sc engine.. ok now im rambeling )

btw it is done.. and its in a crate bound for the buckeye state!

incase you didnt read about the progress on the rennlist 912 forum it has an aluminum oil cooler, full flow set up, 6810-19 cam, shasta pistons and cylinders, csp light weight pully.

John Benton, another great engine builder and former protege of Duane, who was supplying solexes and cam for the build, said he just build a very similar set up on an engine, dynoed it, and it was pulling 127 at the fly wheel. im looking forward to this.

here are the factory specs

HP 102SAE / 90DIN@5800
TQ 120SAE / 90DIN@3500

i dont know which is fly wheel and which one is at the wheels or what the difference between din and sae are.

honestly there wont be anyway to tell what im cooking with unless its dynoed, and anything else other than numbers pulled on a dyno are just speculation. but if its anything like people tell me how its going to be, i will be more than pleased.

while there are alot of things that will give it power, its the cam that really gives it its characteristics..

So glad that your car is coming together so quickly Harry. Does this mean you are going to be coming down to Hot Springs for the 912 Registry's Fall Roundup this year???

JoAnne

PS: Need More 356 Pics!!!!!

He's a pic of Vic and Barabra from their Website at 356 Enterprises. They are two of the nicest Porsche people in the business. Vic teases me all the time about our 356's. If Vic enters their C Coupe in a Holiday Concours forget if, you can't beat him We had to go out and do an Outlaw just to get the heck out of competing agains him We tease each other about it all the time. And Barbara?? She has enough enthusiasm to power 15 356's!!! Lot's of fun to be around.
