Idle issue
Help! Idle issue.
Hoping one of you has had this issue and figured out how to resolve it.
Just finished rebuilding the engine on my 356c. Built it with a big bore kit and replaced the zeniths with webers.
It runs like a beast now. No hesitation on acceleration or deceleration.
Runs smooth in all gears. Mileage is normal. Temperature is normal.
But here’s the thing. It barely holds idle. And when it does it’s at 600 so it either feels like it will stall or it does stall. That’s not good!
The shop and I have tried a lot of things to fix this. Changed all the linkages even the long one behind the fan.
Adjusting with the idle screw works momentarily and then it falls back or once in a while after it’s nice and warm, the idle will jump to 1500.
Timing is fine, temp is fine, gas mileage is fine. And it runs super smooth.
If any has any ideas or suggestions please share. This is my 25th year of ownership and I try to drive it several times a week. That’s not a fun experience right now.
