Default Getting Max ready for the Porsche Parade

Max is finally back from his 2 month wait for parts etc at the mechanics
and we are finally starting to get him ready for the Parade Concours.....

Front Compartment has been stripped for complete cleaning

The Fuel Safe gas tank is all wrapped in plastic to keep it
clean and will be reinstalled later after the cleaning is done

Checking out the under carriage and starting the
complete detailing. The shocks look great already!!

All this work to get Max clean and then next year Robert
be racing it, but then, that is what it was built for in the
first place!

Any other 356 / Rennlsiters going to Parade in Fort Worth??

mine is pretty dirty on the bottom, so any tips to get it off with out worrying about getting water etc all over the car would be appreciated(already polishjed, glazed, waxed,... looks damn good and dont wanna start over...)

Harry,
To be honest Max started out pretty clean. Emory built it with lots of new stuff. But still, to seriously go full Concours at the Parade will take about 1000+++ Q-tips, tooth brushes, special tools (Dremel) etc. with a variety of products like brakeclean, alcohol, citrus based cleaner and H2O. Not to mention hours and hours of elbow grease! I plan on being in, under and around the car for the next 30 days CLEANING!

Did you notice the floor? It's cleaner than my kitchen.

Thanks guys!

It's just Armstrong vinyl peel and stick tiles. Right now it's not as clean as it was when I took that picture. Max's undercarriage is really clean now, but you know about gravity. It rules. What is sprayed up, must come down and onto the floors! Robert used lots of brake cleaner and gunk on Max to get it totally spotless and it appears some of the fumes went right to his head...

PS: Sharky... how's the pup doing??
