Al Holbert with dad's RSK Spyder (photo)
Hi Guys, I'm usually not in the 356 forum, although I had a 54 speedster
a few years ago.
A few months back I found a 951 (944 turbo) in a guys back yard for sale as a parts car. After much research found out it was a Factory Test / Race Car driven by the late Al Holbert.
While doing my research I ran across a guy who was researching Al Holberts racing carrier. He E-mailed me this great old photo he found
of the Holbert family at a weekend event sometime late 1950s or
early 60s? Love those great home made Porsche jackets.
I believe that Al is the kid behind the wheel of Dad's RSK.
Thought you 356 guys might enjoy this photo.

Ref. RJT 993 : Is that Ferry Porsche sitting on the gocart ?
I have something else Ferry Porsche sat on.
His Cusom Built Executive Chair...I have 40 pages of
documentation including letter signed by him four day
prior to his retirement in 1990. I've had it about 18
years. Its cool but I can't drive it around the block.
If anyone has a hankering for it let me know,
there are things I need more than the chair at this point.
Since you guys seam to like old stuff like me,
I'll attach a photo below of a 1950's Mercedes SL style
carnival ride I have. It was found in a Coney Island
warehouse and was a Coney Island carnival ride in the
1950s or early 60's. Needs restoration but still very cool.
It was built by Kindersport of Germany,is 6' long X 3' wide,
has all aluminum trim, wheels, and real spinners,it once
had a bosch electric motor.
I have a go cart stearing mechanisum to convert the track
guided stearing to one of the stearing wheels, and a 5HP.
briggs and straton that will fit in the rear engine
compartment under the flip up lid.....Hey those Shriners
won't have anything on me!
