Question rusty Bursch headers

How does one remove the exhaust pipes from a 356 engine (looks like Bursch headers) that are rusty on the surface but still solid and usable.
It looks like the forward pipes slip into the rearward pipes, is this how they come apart? If so, it's very rusty, how do I separate the pipes?

Thanks

Tom

Torch the pipes on the larger side and knock the smaller side out. Worked
with a propane flame - not very hot. Took about 5 minutes!
