Years ago back in the early seventies, I purchased a lot of parts from NLA and then a good deal of sheet metal from Stoddard, In those days one could purchase complete factory sections and with some careful crating and have it all come to the house without the gorilla damages of today. Yes, in that time period rusty hulks, doors, hoods, and other items could be snagged up for little money compared to today. Alas, purchasing a home, kids college, and the loss of my wife required the unloading of my toys and treasures. Although I am back in the Porsche camp and have gone over to the water-based ride, I still miss the pleasures of simplicity in its finest form, the 356.....points, plugs, and condensers, the trusty Unison, adjusting the valves and damn the environment, Sunoco high test, top-down enjoyment sans IMS, main seal, and a host of nanny requirements. Looking at the picture of the speedster chassis along with all of the latest welding technologies, coatings, and adhesives coupled with many companies making sheet metal replacements and quality floor pans perhaps we may see a Dynacorn type of body for 356, which in my viewpoint is better than all the plastic......
