Default STOLEN - the last 57 speedster

My father owned the last 57 speedster chassis 83791. 20 years ago, when I was in high school and didn't understand how important this was to him, and how special the car was, it was dragged out of our family's driveway storage on a rope, maneuvered down a steep hill as it wasn't running at the time, and loaded onto a box truck never to be seen again. Neighbors saw it all happen as it was in the middle of the day, nobody reported it. They thought we were getting work done. Police were involved, private investigators, nothing ever turned up. The car vanished.

My parents drove off from their wedding in this car after my dad returned from Vietnam. My dad wanted to pass it down to us. He's getting old quick, and I would love to find anything, even a part, to give to him. One of the biggest smiles I ever saw, and fondest memories, is of him driving my first Porsche, my 993 - and it was at the point I understood what it all meant.

Any info, leads, or ideas would be much appreciated. Give the thread some love, let's get some eyes on this.

Beautiful story that I hope you can complete for your pops. I am on a similar quest for a PTS 77 930 Turbo Carrera my father owned.

Wish you the best in tracking this down.
