want to do some reading on the 356, any recommendations? thinking of the book by Brian Long, thanks

Read "Excellence was Expected" by Karl Ludvigsen - great book, covers all the bases from company inception to current day more or less.

Just interested in the history? Or are you thinking about buying? For history, agree with the above comment. Otherwise, I could make some recommendations.

thanks, read Origin of The Species by KL and several other books, Adler, Leffingwell, etc.and the Porsche Family Tree, models from 1948-95, published by PCA.

thanks, buying would be a dream come true, in the meantime I'd like read details about the model range, pre-A, A, B, C, their relationship to the technical programs T-5, T-6, the different engines, 1500, 1600, 1600 Super, Super 90, Carrera GS, GT; of course I'll never afford a 4 cam Carrera, but love to read about the 356 cars.
