Default help identifying this car

We recently purchased a remote property and discovered this car on the property. We are unable to locate any vin tags and are asking for help identifying the model and year. It appears to be a cabriolet that someone has cut the windshield frame off of. Any assistance would be appreciated

Looks like it was a 1954-1955 coupe to me - early dash pre-1956 and the rear body lines look like it was a coupe before the roof was cut off. The early cars had integral bumpers that mounted below the front body - this car had later style bumpers as found on a 356A. So it could be a 1954 but I think its a 1955.

If you can get the hood open the body number should be stamped in the sheet metal about a foot in front of the gas tank.

Yeh, check the vin under the hood per above, or if you can open the driver side door, there should be a plate mounted with the VIN and paint code. VIN would be definitive (happy to check it for you). That hulk may have some serious value.
