Watch Jörg Bergmeister Whip a Porsche 911 GT3 RS at Kyalami
There are track-inspired cars, and then there’s the Porsche 911 GT3 RS; just like there are racing drivers, and then there is Jörg Bergmeister—Porsche Supercup and 24 Hours of Daytona winner, and veteran 24 Hours of Le Mans driver. Oh, and he’s got a degree in economics.
Mr. Overachiever-Bergmeister was recently in South Africa to turn some laps at Porsche’s newly acquired ex-Formula One circuit. The Circuit of Kyalami has faced uncertain times in recent years, but thanks to Porsche and a hefty 19.5 million dollars, its future should be secure.
The video below depicts an agile Bergmeister keeping all 500 horsepower under fine control, while taking advantage of the rear axle steering to whip the GT3 RS around Kyalami’s esses and sweepers.
