RS Werks Process

So how does the process work? Contact RS-Werks and tell them what you want, and they will make it happen. Give them the parameters of the build. There will be a deposit required for them to find and purchase the donor car and other required parts. As various milestones are met, additional payments will be required. Typically, you are looking at about 12-18 months to get your completed car. Here is the really cool part.

A series of photos documents the entire build process. Each build step is beautifully photographed and when your build is complete, you get a hardbound photo album to accompany the car. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Speaking of price, it is impossible to quote a price because each build is so unique, and price can vary greatly. However, as you can imagine, this kind of quality does not come cheap, so figure in the neighborhood of new 911 GT3 money. The cost is worth every penny and is an investment in a unique work of art. You are walking away with a one of one car built just for you, what is that worth?

Heck, Porsche themselves charge nearly a thousand dollars just to paint your calipers black on a new 911. All things considered, these RS-Werks cars are a bargain. I am not the only one who thinks so, as they currently have about 30 active projects going right now.

RS-Werks has been flying under the radar for a while, but they are a first-class outfit that deserve recognition for what they do. If you are considering restoring an air-cooled Porsche or a custom build or even just some routine maintenance, you owe it to yourself to check them out. Becoming the latest member of the RS-Werks family is something that you will enjoy for many years.
