Porsche Teases Debut of New Macan with Just One Silhouette Photo

new Macan debut

We are promised enhanced design, along with more comfort, advanced connectivity, and importantly, driving dynamics.

We wish we could bring you more info on the new Porsche Macan, but right now Porsche has given us but one teaser photo, and a lot to speculate about. Having been out for 4 years, the Macan is due for a refresh, and an exciting one at that. Aside from the Cayenne, it’s been a hit in Porsche showrooms across the US.

The Macan will debut in China as reported by Rennlist and now is the fun part, because we observe an official teaser photo from Porsche that shows the tail lights completely reconfigured from the one spotted in South Africa doing off-road testing. Obviously most Macan owners won’t be subjecting their ride to those conditions, but for a vehicle that has to be both great on track and capable off-road, it’s better to get those bugs out now than later. It’s safe to assume then that the Macan will have the PASM suspension option available.

Aside from the rear tail lights, the front will receive a face-lift, and we can assume the interior will be updated to reflect the design in the new Panamera.

Connectivity and comfort would most likely relate to Porsche InnoDrive system, which includes adaptive 3D cruise control. In this future Macan, it would likely use a similar camera system to adjust gearing and throttle for the topography that lay ahead, while planning even further in advance, up to 1.8 miles, with the 3D GPS system while in an active route.

Unlike the Cayenne, we don’t think there will be a coupe version of the Macan, but we are interested in seeing if any of Porsche’s new E-Hybrid technology will transfer into the sporty SUV. That would certainly fulfill the promise of “enhanced driving dynamics.”
