Porsche Recalls Panameras Over Software Error

Control unit on affected vehicles’ electric power steering needs to be re-programmed.

There are 74,585 vehicles affected worldwide, produced between March 21, 2016 and December 6, 2018.

A software error means that there is a possibility that the electric power steering will occasionally be unavailable for a limited period. If this happens, increased force is then required for steering. To avoid this, the associated control unit needs to be re-programmed with an updated data record as a precautionary measure.

Affected customers are being contacted in writing and asked to attend their Porsche Centre as soon as possible. The workshop visit will take around an hour, and is free of charge for customers.
