Porsche Drivers Top Dreaded German Flensburg Traffic ‘Sin List’

German online portal Check24 has published a traffic violation point sinner ranking by car brand. It reveals that Porsche drivers are the most popular inhabitants of the dreaded Flensburg Register of Traffic Offenders!

The Flensburg Register considers 47 principal Germany traffic offences that earn driver’s license penalty points. Transgressions range from speeding to driving while on a mobile phone and many other traffic violations. Most motorists collect a point or two through the course of their driving careers, with points paid according to the severity of the offense.

Obstructing the right of way, operating a defective car or driving without a license or permit are punished by one point. Overtaking on a solid line, ignoring a level crossing, or driving under the influence earns two points. Three points are awarded to drivers who commit particularly serious offenses that may carry criminal charges or even result in a driving ban. For acts like illegal drag racing, meddling with a traffic officer or failing to aid in an emergency.

Now, German insurance comparison website Check24 has published a survey of traffic fine points by driver, ranked by car brand. It’s based on data captured in its questionnaires over the past year.

Porsche Drivers Fare Worst of All in the Flensburg List

Porsche drivers fared worst of all. 10.9 percent have earned a traffic penalty point. They beat podium finishers Jaguar drivers at 9.6% and Audi, BMW and Land Rover drivers tied for third at 8.2%.

Lexus drivers sit sixth ahead of Volvo and Alfa Romeo. Nine of the top ten car brands preferred by traffic offenders are made by premium and performance carmakers. The exception being Seat in ninth place. Electric car drivers are no angels. Tesla owners beat their Mercedes peers into Flensburg Top Ten. 7.3 percent of their German drivers are on the dreaded List.

Thirty carmakers appear on the Flensburg List, with the best-behaved drivers plumping for Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Renault, tied at 5.5%t. Only 5.6% of Fiat drivers and 5.7% of Dacia owners make an appearance. They collected half the traffic penalty points that Porsche drivers did.
