1991 Porsche 911 limo was built for Benihana founder Rocky Aoki to cruise around the whole country with Car and Driver.

It truly is unbelievable the types of things you can find on Facebook marketplace. From rare to outright weird, there’s definitely a car for sale. This ’70s Targa Porsche 911 limo, though, is a perfect blend of those two categories. Rocking a 959 body kit and requiring two brand new 1991 Porsche 911s to build are only minor highlights in the crazy history of this remarkable car.

According to the Facebook marketplace ad, this one-off Porsche 911 limo was built for Rocky Aoki. He was the founder of the legendary Japanese steakhouse Benihana. If you’ve ever witnessed an onion volcano, you can thank Rocky Aoki. Also, if that last name sounds familiar, it might be because you’ve heard of his son, Steve Aoki. Yes, the world-famous DJ and music producer.

This Limo Has Quite a History

The story goes that Aoki commissioned this limo in the 1980s. It was built by “Big Daddy Bergeman the Limo King of Los Angeles.” Yes, seriously. According to the ad, the car was constructed from two 1974 Porsche 911 Targas. The cockpit retains the targa top. However, the rear of the car is sealed. The ad states that Aoki had a bed put in the rear so the drivers could take turns getting some rest whilst driving the 911 limo around the country. That’s great because this car made its way around the country during the 1991 Car and Driver One Lap of America.

The limo features a pair of Recaro seats up front and a Porsche 959 body kit. Though the paint isn’t in phenomenal shape, the seller states that it’s in overall good condition. In addition, the ad states that the chassis is rust-free. That’s likely due to its life being spent in Los Angeles. Though it’s in okay shape at the surface level, it does need quite a bit of love.

Time Hasn’t Treated the 911 Limo Too Well

The seller bought the 911 limo from Rocky before his passing in 2008. Since then, it seems to have been sitting. Unfortunately, the listing also reports that its engine was stolen. In addition, most of the interior upholstery is gone. So, this is without a doubt a massive project. Still, wishful thinking dictates that someone somewhere will be bold enough to take on this challenge.

The asking price for the car is $18,000. Considering you’re basically getting two 1974 Porsche 911s for that price, that’s not too shabby!
