Modified Porsche Turbo Is Simply Perfect, and You Can Buy It

Of all the cars we love in the world, there are two that speak to us on a level that is very special and unique. The first is a C3 Corvette coupe in Elkhart Green. It’s the car that made us fall in love with cars.

The second is the car that ignited our passion for what a true driver’s car can be. That honor goes to the Porsche 911, specifically the 930 in Guards Red.

Now, thanks to Bring a Trailer, we’re staring at a nearly perfect version of our lust wagon. It’s a red 1986 Turbo with a smattering of tasteful modifications from RUF and others.

In a perfect world, we would own a couple cars just like this. That shape, with the Turbo body and that big sexy whale tail, make us swoon. The fact that it is the prettiest color of red ever to be slathered on a car makes it all the more desirable.

Under that massive wing you’ll find a freshly built and modified 3.4L engine with cams from the 964, bigger pistons from Wossner, and a forced inductions system that features a Garrett Turbo with a RUF intercooler. The heads are ported and polished for good measure. Also, the factory Porsche transmission has been dumped in favor of a RUF dogleg five-speed.

Notably, other RUF improvements and changes include mirrors, steering wheel, floor mats, boost gauge, exhaust and wheels. As it stands, there is almost no piece of this car that isn’t revamped in some form or fashion. From the Elephant Racing GT3 subframe, and suspension all the way back to the Euro-spec rear bumper, this car is improved and enhanced. Hell, even the AC is upgraded to a Griffiths system.

If you are looking for a perfect air-cooled Turbo to add to your garage, head over to Bring a Trailer and start bidding. The bid price is currently sitting at a shade under $50,000, and there are less than six days to get in on the action. Good luck.
