Merit Partners to Offer Rare Porsche 918 ‘Weissach’ at Dec. 6 Auction

Beauty, power, and advanced technology make this Porsche truly special, and the reason why it’s expected to fetch $1,900,000.

At Rennlist, we take time out to spotlight some of the most beautiful and rare Porsches ever built, because, you know, everyone loves reading about and viewing these amazing vehicles. Now, one of the rarest and most technologically-advanced Porsches ever created is going up for auction soon, and you’re going to want to check it out.

RM Sotheby’s is auctioning off a 2015 Porsche 918 “Weissach” Spyder on December 6 in New York. For those that don’t know, the Porsche 918 Spyder was one of a very limited run of high-performance race cars that utilized three separate engines (1 gas, 2 electric) that put out a remarkable 887 combined horsepower and over 900 foot-pounds of torque. All this speed and power is housed in an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle.

It’s reported that this 2015 Porsche 918 “Weissach” Spyder can reach upwards of 217 mph and over 60 mpg.

Particularly, the 918 is an incredibly exclusive Weissach version that has the same specs but reduces weight with magnesium alloy center-lock wheels, lighter-weight Alcantara (instead of leather trim), fire-resistant fabric upholstery, lighter door-pull straps, and six-point harnesses. All told, the weight of the Weissach package 918 is reduced by 100 pounds. The Weissach 918s were reportedly limited to just 230 units.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, this particular car has only had one owner, and has been barely used, with only 270 miles put on it. It is easily one of the lowest-mileage Porsche 918 Spyders you will ever see on the market.

For those interested, the auction will happen December 6 in New York. Unfortunately, Internet bidding is not available on this vehicle, but as always, there are a few different ways to bid if you’re not able to attend in person.

The expected auction price for the vehicle is set between $1,700,000 and $1,900,000. If you’re a serious Porsche enthusiast and have been looking for something truly special, you won’t want to pass up an opportunity to get your hands on this remarkable vehicle.
