Honestly, if you’re trying to get folks to stop texting and driving, this isn’t the best way to do it. If the only consequence is getting a 911 GT3 Cup airborne and coming to a smoky 180 stop, then remind me to start texting and driving more often.

Not that Porsche’s new PSA below isn’t visually stunning. It’s hard not to be when you have one of the best drivers around, Porsche Works Driver and Le Mans winner Mark Webber, rocketing a spectacular Porsche around the track. But does watching the video really give you a sense that you shouldn’t do anything Weber is doing? If anything, it makes you really jealous of the fun he’s having, even with the tag line at the end: “Even the best can’t text and drive. That’s why you shouldn’t.”

Okay, I understand the premise, which I guess works on a philosophical level; Mark gets distracted by some texts coming through on his Porsche Design Blackberry, which makes him veer off the track, and ultimately causes a DNF. But come on, it looks way too fun to be admonishing.

P.S. Texting and driving is dangerous and dumb, and you shouldn’t need me or Porsche to tell you that.
