The Only Gulf Blue 930 Turbo Ever Made

Talk about a unicorn. The gallery below shows the only factory Gulf Blue 930 Turbo in existence. I was just down at The Mitty at Road Atlanta, and this beauty happened to make an appearance. If you are not familiar with this car, I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s a rare specimen, and many people I have spoken with about it even refused to acknowledge that it could exist. But here it is, in all its glory.

The car was birthed back in 1979, and it was built specifically for the Gulf Racing team, allowing for its one-off color. It now belongs to a Ferrari judge by the name of Alan Boe, who says he is the third owner, and has had it since 1991. He also claims that every piece on it, short of consumables like tires, is original. Despite this rarity, Boe refuses to let it sit in a garage, and takes it out regularly.

“It’s really a museum-quality piece, but it’s too fun to drive to put it in a museum,” says Boe.

Now that is something I wish more owners would say. After all, what good are these cars if nobody ever gets to enjoy them?

Boe is going to be a judge at this year’s inaugural Atlanta Concours d’Elegance, and he’s decided to bring his pride to the Concours tent to display there. Since Alan was so nice to drive it down to Road Atlanta for everyone to see, I figured I would give Rennlist a chance to check it out as well. So, hit that gallery below, and ogle at a beautiful color on a beautiful car.
