Yikes! ’91 Porsche 911 Turbo in Ferrari Yellow Sells for $376K

$376,000 is what it took for a buyer to take home a Ferrari Yellow 964 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo on Bring a Trailer

Bring a Trailer sells everything from sought-after sports cars to obscure enthusiast vehicles. Recently, the auction website completed the sale of a California-based 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo. Moreover, the 964 Turbo model has just 12,000 miles on the clock. Talk about a babied Porsche. 

In addition to a low-mileage odometer, the 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo packs the iconic 315-horsepower air-cooled and turbocharged 3.3L flat six-cylinder engine. Furthermore, the 3.3L mill sends its might rearward via a five-speed manual transaxle and stops on drilled rotors.

   

However, the 964 Turbo isn’t entirely original. For instance, the Ferrari Yellow (L10L) 911 features a later-model Becker CDR-210 radio with a CD player. Still, the incredibly clean California car comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a factory tool kit, and a clean title. As such, bidders quickly took the 56-bid auction into the stratosphere. That’s right, the auction’s winner claimed the car for the eye-watering price of $376,000.  

A 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo netting well over $170,000 isn’t an uncommon thing

Air-cooled Porsche 911s are a hot commodity. For instance, at least three 1991 Porsche 911 Turbos sold for over $300,000 in the last two and a half years. Moreover, the average American sale price for a 1991 Porsche 911 from the 964 generation is around $142,259.

 Oh, and that’s the average across all models, not just the sought-after Turbo. No, 3.3L Turbo models routinely sell for over $170,000. However, the 12,000-mile Ferrari Yellow 964 Turbo’s $376,000 sale price puts it at the top of the market. Still, with the upward trend over the last few years, it wouldn’t be surprising to see other 964 Turbos net massive paydays.
