2017

The 2017 Porsche Panamera is coming, and is coming fast. That’s why we’ve compiled its 5 best and coolest features that you must know by the time it reaches showroom floors. After all, us Porsche lovers must know more than the sales person, no?

Night Vision and Innodrive

2017

Like other Germans in the luxury-sedan segment, the 2017 Porsche Panamera will feature a night vision assist system, as well as cutting-edge adaptive cruise control system similar to Tesla’s Autopilot, called Porsche Innodrive. The night vision assist will work via HD and thermal cameras located within the grille and headlight housings, and will assist the driver with recognizing animals and other threats while driving at night.

Sadly, Innodrive isn’t scheduled to be available in North American vehicles yet.

More Carrera and Less Toad

2017

While the previous Panamera was an incredible vehicle in many ways, it often wore the hat of “ugliest sedan in the world.” An accolade given to it by many automotive publications around the world, including Top Gear.

Thankfully, the new generation Panamera is much more 911 Carrera and less squished toad. In fact, I’m convinced that the Panamera’s rear end is identical to that of the 911, making it not only beautiful, but fit better in the Porsche lineup. This is a very, very welcomed change by all Porsche fans.

Spaceship Rear Spoiler

2017

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a Marvel super hero, then the new Panamera spoiler will make you relate to Ironman. The electric deploying mechanism is mesmerizing.

Made up for three separate composite pieces, the spoiler deploys automatically at 80 mph, or by pushing a button from inside the cabin. Not only does the spoiler provide aerodynamic downforce at high speeds, but it also makes people go woaaaaaa! Watch how it works.

Sport Response

2017

Very similar to that of the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar, the Panamera’s Sport Response module allows you to fine-tune the vehicle’s dynamics to your taste or setting.

If that wasn’t enough, push the “O” button and you’ll activate an “overboost” function which will give you maximum power for up to 20 seconds. Pushing this button will also tell the transmission to immediately drop up to five gears to assure instant acceleration. Need more power? Simply push the button again!
