Porsche Ups the Gas as it Juggles its 2022 Macan Range

More power for the base model as 2022 Macan S & GTS grow up.

Porsche has pulled the veil off its re-jigged gas-powered 2022 Macan SUV line-up.

Set apart by a subtly updated front end with a darkened bumper grille, clear LED headlights and seven new wheel designs, the latest Macan’s sport exhaust system now has black tips and there’s a larger rear diffuser too.

Powered Up Base Model Four Pots

Base model Macans will continue to be propelled by the turbocharged 2-liter four-pot now tuned to produce 261 HP and 295 lb.-ft torque That’s a 13 horsepower and 22 pound-foot step up. Which Porsche says will propel the four-cylinder Macan to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. And on to a 144 mph top end. The Macan S also gets a boost thankls to it now picking up the outgoing GTS’s 375 HP 2.9-liter biturbo V6.

The leaves the GTS to now replace the outgoing Turbo as 2022’s flagship Macan. Like the S picks up its baton, GTS is basically a badge engineered 434-hp biturbo V6 old Turbo that should carry over the old car’s 3.6-second 60 mph run and match its 169 mph top speed too. All ’22 Macans will be all-wheel driven through Porsche’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic ‘box.
