Posting to see if anyone might be interested in a trade, or partial trade, for a 1965 Shelby Cobra replica. The vehicle is a 2013 Factory Five Racing (www.factoryfive.com) roadster. Please note this is not a Shelby body on a mustang chassis. The car has a full 4" tubular chassis like the original with aluminum panels and fiberglass body. Its performance is advertised at 1 G on the skid pad and with 400 HP its 2100 lb mass accelerates as fast almost anything out there.
I personally built the car and have a full documentation package including build photos and all receipts. If you are at all interested in owning a performance machine that turns heads like no other this is the car.
The reason I am considering selling/trading it is because I am looking for something I can enjoy a little more with my young kids. The 5 point racing harnesses can be tough to get them into. My current interests include 996 TT coupes and possibly a Panamera. I would also like to hear from what some of the members think as I am somewhat new to Porsches.
Below is a link to photos and a summary of the vehicle. You will not find a more tasteful and quality build out there.

Gorgeous build. Thought about building the race version, but can't stand the sanctioning body that runs them.
Think you need to list a price. What is it worth?

awesome car, I've always wanted one of these and this one looks like it was done right. if I had a 996TT I would seriously be considering this trade, are you only looking to trade or are you offering it as just a straight sale?
one quick question for clarification. your ad mentions that this is not a Shelby body on a mustang chassis, but in the link to the pictures there is a folder named "mustang donor" with pictures of a 90's Mustang cobra being disassembled. Is that unrelated to this build or were there parts donated to this build from that car but not the Chassis? the pics from the Cobra build do look like a tubular chassis was used so I'm just trying to clear up some confusion..
Thanks

Actually Marcus, a straight sale would be my preference. I have the car listed elsewhere as that but figured I would test the waters with the Rennlist community because I am possibly interested in becoming a Porsche owner.
The way these Factory Five cars work is they provide you the chassis, aluminum panels, fiberglass body, suspension, etc.. and you can choose to use a donor car or buy the rest of the parts new. My original plan was to try a low budget build so I bought a 1994 Mustang Cobra with 50K miles at auction that had been hit. As my planning progressed I kept wanting new parts so I ended up selling almost every part from the Mustang. The only parts that ended up on my car were:
-Fuel Tank (primed and painted)
-Cobra Brake Calipers (new seals and powder coated)
All in all it occupied my time until my kit was delivered and I made a couple of bucks.

great, thank you for the clarification, from the build pictures it looked like pretty much all new parts which is why I asked, it looks like you did a great job, when I wrote the previous email I hadn't seen the price listed in Mark's comment above, this is something to think about....

I am sorry but I guess I don't understand the basis of your quote but encourage anyone interested or simply curious about these cars to reply or PM me. Having personally built it I know every wire, rivet, and bolt and love discussing it.
Thanks
