Default Three Limited Editions 911 next year!

I'm not trying here to spread a rumor or fool anyone, I'm here instead inquiring to make sense of what I heard. And I'd appreciate your help.

An executive manager at the local dealer here was on an official visit to Porsche in Germany was told about three limited edition 911 due next year. He couldn't reveal the models since he signed a confidentiality agreement. But he said one of which is never seen before derived from a Panamera model.

The Panamera comes in non-S, S, 4S, GTS, turbo, turbo S, Diesel and Hybrid. All are available on the 911 except the Diesel and Hybrid. The Diesel doesn't make sense for a sports car, so my guess it's a Hybrid.

So my guess:
1)) GT2 RS
2)) 911 hybrid (derived from the Panamera), which I'm still not convinced for a 991 generation to be true.
3)) what's the 3rd limited edition? GT2? GT3 RS? Speedster? Or the usual Black Edition nonsense model?

Of course there's a chance that the guy is lying, misunderstood or ignorant. But I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here and trying to guess what could it be. What do you think guys?

GT3RS 4.2 final NA. Manual possible. If this happens you'd be looking at the most collectible 911 possibly ever.

Thanks for posting.
I'd usually make fun of rumors coming from the dealer level, although in this case I can totally see this happening. Why,you may ask... Well,Porsche knows money and marketing, plus they see the frenzy created each time a special edition/limited is brought to the market. So they'll build them as long as the market tells them they can be sold. As much as it sounded like a joke in the past and today,I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we'll see in the future something like a Panamera GT3,Macan GT3 RS or a Cayenne GT2 RS.

So yeah,I definitely see 3 special editions being brought to the market next year. Let's hope one of them is a 911 with an NA engine/manual transmission,2900 LBS that everyone can buy.

Surely we must be due a speedster version to see the 991 generation out?

Could one of them be a touring version of GT3 (a 6 speed GT3 without the wing) that someone mentioned in another thread?

In my opinion:

1) GT2 RS
2) GT3 RS (NA 4.2, no manual option, potentially last NA)
3) 911E-Hybrid

However, I don't think that if there's going to be an 911E-Hybrid, it will be limited. I think a hybrid 911 is bound to happen in the future, and it will be sold to the masses. I think that the next GT3 RS (and obviously the GT2 RS) will be much more limited than the current gen GT3 RS. Just my two cents.

911 hybrid won't appear until at least the 992 generation.

But watch this place and wait for fxz to say there will be a 911 diesel.

I guess it all depends on what people call limited editions or should we say numbered editions? Is the RS really considered LE, maybe nowadays it is. I will say speedster, GT2RS, and a numbered GT3RS 4.2 MT.

No hybrid until next gen, per Walliser at COTA.

I wish there were no more limited editions, I think its better if we can all get the cars we want rather then deal with all the games

Didn't you state one is a Panamera? For that I'd guess a 918-like TTV8 hybrid at 700+ hp.
