Engine does look great.

Weekend update ...

I could safely say that the 3.6 is now finally ready as i installed the clutch and new Kennedy lightweight flywheel and pressure plate and everything is torqued down and ready to go.

Hardest job was to remove the existing 3.2 DME harness and wiring and route the 993 one through the body and to the back of the engine bay. That and the new throttle cable which had to be threaded through the tunnel and under the retainer clips ... needless to say that was a pain in the a$$ and i had to remove the shifter and shifter rod to have access to the cable. Now a few phone calls to Patrick Motorsports tomorrow to enlighten me on some of the wiring mysteries and that should keep me busy for the rest of the week !

If all goes well with the wiring, the new engine will be going in on Friday and everything on that end should be buttoned up by the end of the weekend. Then it will be time to fit the new oil lines to the front bumper mounted oil cooler and redoing the mounting studs on the *&#^$@ ill fitting fiberglass bumpers !

That's all for now folks

Cheers
Phil

Glad to see your progress. So what brand of bumpers did you get so others know not to get those since they are not working out as well as you expected.

Just when i thought things were moving along,it turns out i will have to remove the fuel tank to get access to that last wire bundle that i need to remove in order to pull the 3.2 DME harness out ...

I really didn't want to cut the harness and leave live power wires capped off under
the front firewall.
Anyhow,it will make the installation of the new conversion harness that much easier !

Oh well, back to the drawing board ...
With the amount of time i'm spending in the garage lately,i think the thought of bringing the Esspresso machine in the man cave is starting to sound good

Cheers

OK,today i'm determined ... fuel tank is out and i'm attacking the wiring situation and my goal is that all the old wiring will be out and the new harness will be hooked up to the fuse panel and routed properly !

If all goes well,i'm contemplating installing the 3.6 tomorrow
All you normal people, enjoy the sunny afternoon while i'll be working in the "cave" ... lol

Cheers

All in all,a good day at the office as the new wiring is routed and connected and while the fuel tank was out i installed the new 3.6 fuel pump so things are looking up !
Tomorrow's project is to install the new oil lines from the engine to the tank and thermostat then it would be safe to say the engine can go in,possibly on Monday.Once the engine is in the ill fitting fiberglass bumpers and front mount oil cooler will be next as new lines have to be added from the existing fender mount unit ...
Still missing the ignition module and it looks like i'll have to order a new unit $$$

I do question my sanity at times when i get into these projects, but hey there's nothing wrong with progress right ???

That's all for today, time to go fire up the BBQ

Cheers
Phil
