The circle for Germany/Holland/Swiss/Austria is about 650 Miles in Diameter,
i think that is a little big for Meetings . I would suggest about 400 Miles and cut Germany in east and West ( like in the old Days ) . Than you can put Germany ( west ) together with Holland/ Belgium/Luxemburg/ France / England/ Swiss . Just an Idea .

First of all, the circles are not exact boundaries, just a graphical means of identifying groups.
I agree that regions get better, the smaller they are. It makes the meetings easier and the knowledge of service centres etc which is shared is only useful if it is truly local.
However, there has to be a minimum number of people in a region, or the lack of activity will see it wilt and die.
Secondly, I am trying to convince John D to create just 3 sub-regions: The one centred around western Germany, the one centred upon Sweden, and the rest of Europe. If we make the regions only half the diameter, then we need four times as many to cover the same area!
Assuming your figure of 650 miles diameter is correct, then that means that the worst case scenario for a Rennlister to travel to a central meeting place is 325 miles, and much less for most people in the region. I think that is bearable for a trackday/ cross country rally type weekend if it were ever to be organised.
Just my $0.02...

John D, if you really wanted to, you could generate a world map automatically for every user, using their profile information. Might be a bit of work setting it up but very cool
You could then get the full picture instead of using this small sample size.

A Brit living in Geneva, Switzerland.
Must say I'm impressed with the spread of Europeans on the forum.
I must say that it would be more practical to have a mini database to search though (...John?). If anyone's going to, for example, Switzerland, they search and up pops Swiss911, Alex, myself and others (that I've not noticed in this thread).
Gary.
