OT: Amazon.ca - ?no tax
I've decided to sign up for Amazon Prime Canada after the 30 day trial in Dec2016... I've been noticing that I haven't been charged tax when I check out... I was pretty sure I was being charged HST (13%) before....
not complaining, but it is peculiar.... anyone else notice this?
As an aside, noticed a post on garagejournal that Amazon (dot com) is looking to grow more in the autoparts market.... nothing yet on the dot ca front....

Pretty sure you can't purchase from Amazon.com and ship to Canadian address. You will need to ship to a PO box near the border and go pick it up. I do agree that the US website has much better selection and most of the time for the same item it's much cheaper even with the current exchange rate

I'm seeing tax added to items sold directly by Amazon.ca (i.e. shipped from Canada) and no tax when shipped from 3rd party (presumably outside of Canada).
I've bought a lot from Amazon over the last year, mostly from .CA due to the exchange rate. .COM now includes import/duty fees so it can end up being more expensive than buying from .CA. Only real benefit I've noticed from .COM is the extra selection.

But there is much more on .com. Remember 3 or so years ago when our dollars were roughly at par? Ah the good ol' days! Bought my car in California and drove it home!
