Recommend Jim Pace's narration. In a 962, no less!

Jim is a marvelous man. He won GTU in the 24 Hours in 1992, won overall at the 24 Hours in 1996 and overall at Sebring a few weeks later that year.
He knows what he's talking about. And he's SMOOOOTH!

Here is my qualifying lap for the Daytona 24 HR Classic in a 2006 Porsche Cayman S. Not perfect but it gives you the basic elements.
There is also a good Jochen Mass video on the HSR website where he is driving a 911 IROC:

Sorry - it's fixed now. The videos are 1 year apart but by coincidence, we were both running with Scott Jachthuber's 911RS

I never want to call a track "easy" but out of all the new tracks I have been to Daytona was by far the easiest to learn. Videos are good but the best teacher for me is to attach myself to the bumper who has a similar car and knows the track. I did this in the practice session of the PCA race last month and before long I felt comfortable.
All that being said Turn 1 is probably one of the hardest turns out there to get right!

Todd, you're right in that it is relatively easy to learn. I found that the biggest learning opportunity at Daytona is really "Racecraft" that results in you being able to draft faster cars through the banking by timing your exit from T6 and the Bus Stop. Some cars allow you to draft them faster than others. Boxsters - fuggetaboutit. You want to draft the fast guy with the biggest freaking wing out there. T1 is really all about finding good reference points (on your left) and managing your brake application as you still have lateral load on the car on initial application.
