Make sure the walkway on the second level doesn't interfere with the full length of the lift. Between the garage door rails and door clearance and the front of the lifted vehicle (working on the tow vehicle is part of the deal too) you don't have much room. Also you may want a 4 post at some point, will one fit? Compressor outside or better accessed from outside but inside from weather.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of talent around Hawley so you might have to BYOS David. We could probably import some from Scranton if teeth aren't high on the priority list.

Yes, I think the cars are drawn a little out of scale but I'll make sure that there is room for the Suburban on the lift. If that will fit, anything will.

The design evolved quite a bit over a couple of years but it's finally getting there.

Changes started with the addition of a beam.

and expanding the basement.

Next comes a deck and steps here.

An interior shot. Man cave with deck upstairs. Bathroom and clean room downstairs and a stairwell from basement to loft.

The cat walk will go where the ladder is for access to the man cave and the loft storage.

View from the deck.

It's going to be that too. You just can't drive the boats in. The first project after I get the floors polished and a hoist installed on the beam will be to pull the engine out of the 1993 Sunbird 195. so I can repair the transom. It wants to move when you give it any power in reverse.

but I keep looking here...

Awesome!

Are you doing anything besides polishing the floor? I'm building a shop now and I am planning on using densifyer and sealer.

That's pretty much the plan. A hardener before polishing and a clear sealer after. I was worried about welding slag scorching the sealer but I think I'll just get some mats. I didn't get any good shots of the floor but it looks nice. I asked for the middle bay to be as flat and level as possible for doing alignments. They warned me that I'll need to squeegee water into the drains but I already have to do that in the attached garage and it's slanted to the drains.

Nice! I have the same plan for an alignment area.

The garage I work in a lot is densified/sealed and is great 30 years later. The garages at WGI are the same and hold up really well. The other thing you can do if they get dirty is rent a floor cleaner and clean it with that. I did that in an old shop once a year and it looked like new each time.

Scott,

That is so cool! If I was single I would live in the shop and just rent the house out.
