Did You Know Porsche Created a Limited Run of 959 Porsches in 1992?
In 1992, four years after 959 production halted, Porsche found enough extra parts lying around to produce a limited run of the historic model, and they were apparently all bought by one lucky guy.

I owned a 959 Komfort for a number of years that I purchased from the original owner in 2005. The car was totally stock and unmolested. I was aware of the '92 run of cars from the "parts bin." Bruce may chime in on this but I seem to remember that a few parts in the '92 run were OEM 964. I remember that I also used some 964 parts in reconditioning my vehicle when I purchased it.

Radio Shack Diagnostic Box
I remember when I was first handed the diagnostics box I thought that it looked like a homemade Radio Shack electronics project. It certainly wasn't a factory part. Only later I found out that the service manual provided instructions on how to make the box and mine was made with Radio Shack parts.
I thought this thing is worthless. But I'll never forget that after following some very explicit instructions and a detailed analysis of some sequence of lights on the dash (straight out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind) I pushed one of the rocker switches and it engaged (and reset) the ride height control. Amazing.
You cannot own a 959 without it.
