There is no free lunch. Any increase in power will come at the expense of additional stress on mechanical components, and reliability. If there is related warranty coverage, you run the risk of the warranty being voided as well.

Having said all this, Cobb does have a good reputation among enthusiasts.

I would much rather have a tune that doesn't max out the turbos at 2500 RPM.

Does the tune change the transmission settings or just the engine? Compared to my 991TT, the shifting speed seems delayed and slow on the Macan, no doubt due to its different mission and perhaps for longevity.

My guess is that the tune does not change any settings in the PDK. I have had Cobb in the past for my EvoX, and BMWs and the flash tunes did not modify the transmissions.

from NYC - is there a COBB office we can bring our cars to, to get this done since I've never had to DIY it?

I got a tune for my other car but the place did it for me at a tuning event.

what's the process of getting a tune done? I have a 2017 GTS and I'm interested. I came from a Cayenne Turbo S and miss the midrange giddy up. The GTS seems like it struggles with a 40-80 pull comparatively.

What is the interest level like for this application? I have had nothing but great experiences with this software company on our GT4, X51 GT4 and 4.0L builds. The Accessports are super easy to use and they are great for logging. I have been selling APs and having customers log their cars on the dyno or on the street and have been making custom tunes for folks and thus far the results have been great on the NA cars and the Cobb folks assure me that i will love the results on the turbo front. I have a customer with a turbo that wants to come by for the tune and i was curious if there were others out there.

A random question for the ECU hackers:

Any way to enable paddle-neutral on the 95B's PDK so that it acts like the 991's and 981's PDK?

Power is nice. I don't need more. But, I'll take the extra that comes with an ECU tune. But, what I really want is paddle-neutral. First vendor that offers that gets my money...

Just so I'm clear, you want to be able to achieve neutral by activating both paddles simultaneously right?

That's it in a nut shell. I'd like the Macan PDK to act - from a human interface perspective - like the PDK in 991s and 981s. Note that I'm not referring to PDK-S behavior.

For the 9[89]1 PDK:
- simultaneously pulling and releasing both paddles puts the transaxle in neutral.
- once in neutral pulling on either paddle reengages a clutch with a speed-appropriate gear selection.
- if you are stopped and in N, foot on brake required to engage a clutch (lawyers...)
- works with mode selector in M,D,or R

I drove the first Macan (an S) delivered to my East Coast dealer within a day or three of it arriving and I *swear* that it had this feature. It was the first thing I tested before even driving away. Of course everyone tells me I am remembering a hallucination.
