Question Cayenne stop production 6+ months before 2015 model..?

My dealer told me told me they will stop producing the Cayenne for at least 6 months after they produce the last of the 2014 model Cayenne's mid 2014. Can that be true..??

Could be. When they change a model they stop production to change all of the tooling out in the factory.

But would that take 6+ months? Does anyone know whether it took that long for the Panamera face-lift in 2014?
If so that would mean no 2015 Cayenne produced until early 2015?

If the Panny is any guide, production will not stop for that long of a period according to my dealer.

Also the upcoming '15 is a refresh just like the panny. Its isnt a new design.
Im told to expect, v6 turbo, bumper, lights and interior updates.

Corvette plant in Bowling Green did the same thing tooling up for the 2014. Corvette and Cayenne annual sales totals are similar, both comparatively low volume models. So based upon what I saw at Bowling Green, six months seems reasonable for the Cayenne. One other situation likely contributes to the delay is that this time around is Leipzig will soon produce nothing but Macans. As such, the Cayenne will now be done entirely in Bratslavia. So - relative to the Cayenne - it's actually the Touareg plant that's getting "tooled up".

Was looking at ordering a Cayenne. The one outlet in Germany that sells US spec vehicles to service members in Europe said if I didn't put an order in by March '14 for the last of the 2014s, it would be until Sept '14 to order a '15 Cayenne for delivery in Januaryish. Bottom line, They are going to churn out as many Macans as possible then start producing Cayennes.

I think they want to get rid of everything they have from the factory, and the company like Porsche can do that as they have $$$.

Regarding to 2007, wasn't this only for US market though?

957 was not sold from mid 2006 which would have been the 2007

957 came out in ROW and US in late 2007 as the 2008 model

The Sales Manager at a local dealer claims that there isn't going to be a diesel in 2015. Has anyone else heard anything to this effect? I have to wonder if he isn't saying that to clear out some of the 14 diesels he has on the lot ...

Boy, that would be hard to believe. They're selling damn well... I'd say he's trying to move current inventory by being a bit (intentionally) uneducated.

Not sure I'd be able to trust someone any longer who said that to me.

Last visit to the dealership and they were talking about the 300hp Diesel S coming to America in '15.
