Panamera and ipod classic?..
Can anyone tell me if the 2013 - 2015 Panamera infotainment system works with the ipod classic.
I see there are USB receptacles....but I do not know if the Porsche system will actually interface and control the non Bluetooth ipod classic.
Thank for any help or directions

I stuck a 500GB USB hard drive in the console with all my music, including wav rips of my CDs and records. It works great with the AUX system and I never have to remove it unless I'm adding music.

Well while a USB stick technically worked, it had to load/create the database each time I started the car. I have ~80GB of music which may not be typical, but due to having to wait several minutes for this process each time is what led me to by the Ipod.

Using an USB stick has the advantage of being able to display the song list on the round screen behind the steering wheel, not possible with an iPod. Loading the songs seems to be not an issue each time I start the car, the song you left off will start to play right away while the song lists are loading. And I leave my USB stick plugged in all the time, only to remove it to add songs. I used to use an iPod but since I switched to an USB I never once plugged back my iPod.

By the way, before setting up an USB key, this is the way I started, but found out the drive was still spinning out, when contact was off, and getting hot in the glove box, I took the HDU drive out to go flash memory !

That's not my experience. It's always off when I get in the car. It does get a touch warm after being on for several hours but it's been fine for at least the last 2 years in my '13 GTS.
