Bill,
Thanks. My wife likes it much more than my 928s, but I think that's mostly because it's newer.

The 4 door is the best looking sedan out there... when I'm in Scottsdale I see them reasonably often and there is actually one in Des Moines- have no idea where he would get it worked on.
Been tempted to get a used one when I replace the A8...
Nice looking coupe BTW. Hopefully you won't tire of the F1 tranny. We got a M3 a few years ago with the SMG- thought it would be fun- traded it for a stick after about a year...

A few more pictures:

The car looks deep red, purple, or black depending on the lighting.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Does your state require a front license plate? I think Maseratis deserve an exemption.

Unfortunately, yes, and there is no good spot to put one. I'm considering a license plate mount that screws into the tow hook receptacle.

Beautiful car. There seems to be a lot of value in the gently used ones. I seriously considered buying one last year but I bought the 930 instead.

There's a yellow 02' manual close by for sale (private) with crazy low miles on it. I may have to have a look.

MG is punting all non-Porsche car threads to his new pet forum.

He has to justify creating it!

I moved it and (because it is an older thread) left a permanent redirect. I'm sure that the OP will find it..

Wow! Thanks! I never would have known this existed if you didn't do this.

Well, unfortunately I haven't put many miles on it. The AC compressor clutch seized and spun on the compressor a few weeks after I bought the car. I do most of my own work, so the car sat for a while until I had time to work on it. I just finished installing the replacement compressor (you have to remove one of the exhaust manifolds and lift the engine to get to the compressor). My understanding is that AC compressor failures are not common in low mileage examples.

I still hope to put a few miles on it before putting it away for the winter, but the early reliability report is not good. It hasn't changed my opinion of the car though.
