Didn't know we had so many Cal Alums here!
Funny story, so one day in clinic an old hippie Jewish guy came in for some aches and pain in the back... we got to talking and started talking about Berkeley and such. He said he owns Rasputin and blondies... It was awesome. When he left, he gave me his business card and on the back it said ONE FREE SLICE... I never did try to use it though....

Mooty and I have been working on a hangout, but I'm not sure I'd want to subject you to a meal with him—he sometimes insists on a table to himself, then sits on it, stares at other patrons, and won't speak. It's very Thoreau, and it can get awkward if you don't like fishing. In other words, you really have to like your meal.

However, I'd be game for a more normal RL meet-up at Zachary's at some point. Good stuff, those old haunts.

cheesboard pizza is not real pizza, that said, it's is very good. the pizza part expanded, and there are now table on the sidewalk. the flower stand next to it was a frequent station for me. key: if you think you fk up AGAIN, buy flowers....

Ah, typical Berkeley behavior? A RL meet-up sometime would be fun.

Pretty desperate trolling to go after a typo.

I'm pretty sure I had some friends at Sigma Chi. I'm remembering one Japanese kid named Rick who had a really nicely tuned supercharged MR2. But it's hard to say. I destroyed a few brain cells too and am not 100% sure it's the right house.

Yep, that's the store. Leif's name rings a bell. I wasn't there on a daily basis since I was the manager and only working the counter a little bit.

The years are right. I was there 89-94. I didn't feel I had the technical skills to get the degree, and while I've got some Howard Roark in me, architecture wasn't ultimately my path. I ended up with one of my minors in ED and spent a lot of time killing brain cells on the 6th floor fire escape, working on my roommates' models (I'm an expert with an exacto and various building materials), and delivering food at all hours of the night. One became a custom cabinet and furniture designer in Oakland and the other is on staff at USC after getting his PHD at Oxford.

yeah it was about 5 years ago that i was there. i heard amoeba in the haight is good? missed it last time.
records are very expensive nowadays. i mainly mainline off cd's now.
shows you how up to date with the latest trends i am.
but agreed, can't do 2 of these hobbies at the same time.
dave wilson is in a week releasing his new magnum opus, 'master chronosonic'.
maybe combining watch and cars madness in one weighty package????
who say's one can't have it all?
