DIY Oil Change
I am fairly certain that if you are on this forum, you have a clue. Most people with a clue know how to change their oil. (I was reading Wayne's new book and it has a whole section dedicated to changing the oil).
Anyway, we have been asked more times than should be necessary!

Lubro Moly oils are not on PCNA's approved oils list.
The only Liqui Moly oils on PCNA's approved oils list are:
Leichtlauf High Tech SAE 5W-40 (valid to 06.02.2012)
Top Tec 4100 SAE 5W-40 (valid to 10.04.2011)
Nachfull-OI SAE 5W-40 (valid to 10.04.2011)
Pro-Engine M 400 SAE 5W-40 (valid to 10.04.2011)
All of the above oils have the WW classification which stands World Wide.
Also, the instructions call for too much oil. The Boxster does not require 10 quarts. Without the filter change the oil capacity is 7.75l or 2.04 gallons or 8.18 quarts. With a filter change this requires approx. another 1/2 quart of oil.
My Porsche tech contacts caution me against overfilling the engine with oil.
In fact, cold the oil level should be a segment or two below the full/max mark to allow for oil expansion when the engine/oil is hot.
Correction: 2.5l engine's oil capacity is 8.25l (with filter change) and 7.75l (without filter change). Both the 2.7l and 3.2l engines have an oil capacity of 8.75l (with filter change) and 8.5l (without filter change).
Sincerely,
Macster.

Using just ramps the amount of oil drained is not affected by any substantial amount.

FYI, Castrol Syntec is now labeled as 'Castrol Edge with SPT', but retains its' Porsche A40 approved rating.
