AS Equalizing Tank
Hello everyone
Last week I noticed that the cap on the AS Equalizing Tank under the driver side frunk cowl was bad and pentosin was overflowing. So I pulled some of the fluid out with an syringe, ordered a new tank (as Porsche does not sell the cap just by it's self) and put the new cap on. Checked the power steering fluid in the engine bay and it was low so I filled that up and have been driving for a week now. I pulled the cowl off today to inspect again and the fluid is over the max level again. This has me puzzled on why would the fluid come into the Equalizing Tank and not flow back?
Anyone else had similar problem or might know what might be the issue?
Thanks in advance

Thanks bruni911
I have already replaced the cap but the issue is that the fluid will not drain back from the reservoir. I pulled the fluid out of the reservoir down to its max marking a week ago and now its back to all the way to the cap again.

996PP, what you have experienced is the "classic" clutch slave cylinder failure. The hydraulic assisted slave has failed. If you do a "search" you will find that it "very common" with the 996TT and 997TT.
The front truck slave cylinder reservoir fill up with fluid from the hydraulic power steering reservoir. As you have noted, the power steering pump reservoir fluid level will drop and show up in the front slave cylinder reservoir. This condition will not heal itself. The fix is a slave cylinder replacement AND a slave accumulator (should replace as a pair).
