Default Road Race numbers?

Hey everyone,

What do you chose for your Road Race numbering? I have always resorted to the great "Blue painters tape."

I understand that magnetic cling type may lead to paint issues, while, a decal may adhere well and not produce any more significant heat.

What do you use?

Problem with the magnetic numbers isn't the paint, the doors and hood are aluminum on a turbo.
I use window numbers.

+1 on writing on the windows. That's what I do. I thought about ordering some clingy graphics for the doors but unfortunately my local PCA changes numbers each event.

I use static cling numbers, come off with little bit of water, reusable, have never fallen off.

Thanks for all the tips and help guys. I've ran over a few magnetic numbers at the track. Think i'll go with decal numbers.

I went with reusable vinyl numbers for my turbo. Worked well. Used magnetic for my previous C4S and they were fine as well.

I use the green painters tape............. sticks much better and comes off much cleaner than the blue tape especially when it's hot.

As I do quite a bit of road racing and was tired of my friends making fun of my "expensive car with tape numbers", I contacted a local sign company and had them make me a square of cling with my number as well as the NASA decals plus the ones for my contingencies. I then used the blue painters tape to secure all 4 sides of the static cling. It works like a charm. Numbers/logos look great and the painters take makes the cling stay on at 100+ MPH and comes off easily.

Thanks Sayajin for the advice. I have resorted to using some technology within my company with 3D printing.

I'll print this flexible material and paint it for contrast. I will then adhere it by double sided tape on the rear windshield or door panels.

BTW, I happen to have used the "911 Porscha Condensed" font here.
