Default 997 GT3 Build

I got my car last September and I've been dying to start to prep it for the track.

Its had almost 30k in warranty work in december which included Top mounts, coffin arms, steering rack, 2 rear springs, front dampers and a full set of PCCB all under porsche warranty.

So now I've decided to take the car to Fearnsport and let Matt work his magic.

The first stage is now under way and i will update with pictures.
Here is what I've gone for
Michelin Cup 2's
Alcon Discs
Pagid RS29 pads
Endless Brake fluid
Rear tow arms (Porsche motorsport)
Motorsport Cup Diff Plates
Weld all coolant pipes (engine out)
4.0 RS Clutch upgrade
Full Geo and corner weighted

Done all that as well at Fearnsport.

Use PFC08. A lot better! And have him add some ATEC brake lines.

RS29 always gave me a long pedal. PFC08 solid all day long.

Quick update. While the engine was out we have replaced the water pump. The old one was showing signs of a small leak.
we have also replaced the RMS for good measure.
Picking the car up tomorrow, so more pics to come!!!

Great work on the coolant pipes, hoses, etc. during the engine drop. I am amazed that you received $30K worth of new PCCB and suspension parts on a 9 year old car under warranty.

I know I couldn't believe it really when I had the phone call and they said it was all under warranty. I've now got the PCCB's all wrapped up ready for a rainy day. They have done 100 miles since they have been on the car.
How should you store them?
Today on the journey home the car ticked over 30,000 miles. I can't wait to get on the track, it feels so different and agile. Guess it's just the geo really and I haven't driven it for 2 weeks!!
The Alcon discs and PFC08 pads are amazing, you get so much feel through the pedal and obviously on the road your not even putting them through there paces!
One thing I do miss is the noise!!
I decided to take off the sharkwerks race exhaust as in the uk it's hard to find a track that will let you pass noise regs. So I'm going to sell the system which has only been on the car a couple of hundred miles!

Next time try the Tropheo Rs instead of CUP2s

Let us know how you like the Cup Diff. What lock did you go for ? 997 Cup cars have pretty aggressive Diff set up that may require a different driving style.

Good luck !

did RPM do all the work? That's completely awesome.

why was there a warranty claim on the PCCBs? Did you not consider going with Surface Transform CCB? I know Ollie (from RPM) hooked someone up with ST CCB when their OE PCCBs were close to being worn out.

ST CCB for all 4 corners is 4 times the cost of Alcons but should also last much longer and can be re-furb.

Plus you can use RS29s on them as well

can you be more specific about said driving style? not trying to be facetious just curious.

my understanding was 911 track driving is typically slow in-fast out; brake hard, turn in, on maintenance throttle/slow feed through apex, then drop the hammer.

never lift.

u seem serious about tracking

that being the case u will need to address the front springs and dampers

major weak point of the stock setup for tracking a 7.1 car if your driving skill is above intermediate level

most advanced drivers using 7.1 car go to top dollar coilovers like moton jrz ohlins with uprated springs

Ok you are only going for the cup plates, not the whole diff (I thought you did swap the whole unit, I read to fast the 1st time). So you will keep the low preload and 28/40 lock of the 997GT diff. It will be better than stock and should not change much your driving experience if you drive with systems on I would guess. However I can't know for sure I haven't tried that.

I went for the GT Guard unit 40/60 like many here on Rennlist on my GT2. Works well when you want to turn off the crap TC/ESP of the gen 1 997GTs.

As for 911 driving style I don't know what I am doing don't ask me
