Default Question on Sport Steering Wheel

Want to see if anyone has installed the sport steering wheel in 997 GT3 and could post or send me a picture? One of my least favorite things about the .2 GT3 is the look of stock steering wheel. The sport wheel looked pretty nice and ordered one. This morning I saw it in the car the finish looks too polished and slightly out of place. If anyone has a pic it would be appreciated.

I did a thicker flat bottomed wheel from DCT Motorsports. Not cheap, but much better than the stock wheel.

TSF,
Sorry you didn't like the look. You can remove the silver plastic from the steering wheel and have it painted if you wanted to. It doesn't look as easy as removing the plastic from the OEM GT3 steering wheel though.

I hear ya on the standard wheel. It sucks big time. The plastic spoke extensions at 3 and 9 o'clock are so annoying. I bought a used one and had it reupholstered in full leather (including the spokes) + some red stitching.

My RS came w. the sport steering wheel when I picked it up. Not bad, quite comfy overall but I agree that it looks too shiny for the GT3 interior. I like the look of the stock wheel, it just feels right. So I immediately replaced it. Literally, drove the car into my garage after I picked it up and replaced the wheel right away:

Another option to rid yourself of the plastic look

Where did you get the carbon wheel from?

Thanks for the pics, very helpful. That stock wheel done in leather looks a lot better than stock, nice job. Nice RS

Thanks for suggestion, like the sport wheel wheel just not crazy about the the plastic finish. Having it painted might be the best solution.

Plus it will be very entertaining to see the wife's reaction when I mention it. Hey honey I'll be back in an hour, taking the new $1k steering wheel in for a paint job. Haha!

The Carbon center is from MaCarbon. I ad the wheel made thicker by Dallas custom wheels as well. The carbon steering housing is from DbCarbon

As for the sport steering wheel, you could replace the shiny center trim with a carbon piece as well.
