I won't belabor the point. As the majority rightly concludes, keep your RS.

That car is wicked, I would not get rid of it. If you want the 991 gt3 get one and sell it before the warranty runs out but keep the RS.

The 997.1 GT3RS is a very special breed. Stick with it because it is special!
If you wish to be a numb- nut, brain dead, paddle flipper, no upshift lift driver then the 991 gen is for you.
Frankly yes the 991 GT3 is fast but I have not encountered a 991 GT3 that has been faster than a built 997.1 GT3RS.
Yes there is a video out there of 991GT3 eventually going by my 997.1 GT3R but this was only after realizing the oil pump issue due to the increase stroke and harmonic issue. That day on that video my 997.1RS was sick. All thanks to Jamie and his development of the harmonic damper. To hell with any 991 GT3 lame believer.
Now with a 997.1 GT3RS build there is NO and I mean NO 991 GT3 whatever can run with my RS.

To the OP, keep your 997.1 RS. That is a drivers car. The 991 GT3 will and have become a "dime a dozen". There's NOTHING special about this car. Any "Joe Blow" can be fast in a 991 GT3.

Wish you the best decision.

This^^^^. Ranger tells the truth.

The 991 GT3 is mind numbing. People in my native Germany are starting to sell and are trying to pick up the 997. There are some on this forum, particularly on the 991 GT3 forum, who think they know all the 991 GT3 drivers in Europe - they do not - and won't believe what I am saying . I would not touch a 991 GT3 without warranty or even for just toting around town.

The making of the GT3 as we know it is dead, it died when the last 997 came off the line. Going fast is not always the point, control is, and the computers in the 991 do everything for you. People are faster on the track in auto mode vs. manual mode, freaking auto mode.

this beginning to happen in the UK too.

On Porsche UK's used car locator, there is a 7.2 GT3 which is a mere £5k less than a 991 GT3. The latter car is about 3.5 years younger.

I didnt own the RS but I did have the 997.1 GT3 2007. I enjoy my 2015 991 GT3 but miss the rawness of my 997.1. My advice is keep your RS and get the 2016. Haha

Guys, what is the difference in resale value of the .1 RS when you look at the different colors: silver vs black vs orange vs green?

I know Green prices are outrageous but what would you say a clean Orange or clean black should sell for?

A more informed RLer will know about the RS, but I heard the 7.1 GT3 Black and White were highest production numbers. I see more Orange and Black 7.1 RSs and only saw 1 Silver RS at many events I attend if that means anything. It could mean the owners of Black and Orange RSs drive them more often.

Silver is actually the rarest.
