Sounds like it did work as I'd imagine you'd have less understeer with the front wheels pulling.

It will not let you launch that way for sure--I can attest to that. But maybe under speed it disengages.

My car is getting Xpel installed. Perhaps this weekend when I get it back I'll give it a go.

Yes, it indeed sounds like it works since defeating the FWD will make it drive like a 2S And by that I mean perhaps even more fun when you want a 2WD drive.
I am seeing this at work so I will check it out tomorrow.

It is raining this weekend and my car should be done with the Xpel install today.

I think I will give it a go. With wet roads, it is easier to tell sooner without excessive speed.

On a side note, I drove my new CX-9 to work today in the rain and I had fun doing 4-wheel burnout launches at stoplights. Who would think that a SUV that size could be fun on a launch.

I wasn't convinced... I've not had much trouble spinning a rear wheel drive car around before. I'll give it another go when I find a suitable place.
